Originally a site-specific performance for gallery space later adapted for film, “The Grid” explores the role of women in domestic architecture in two activation phases. The first part refers to the child’s perception of space, the sense of exploration, curiosity, and freedom, that comes from these familiar grid-like settings. The second activation explores the role of the adult woman, looking closer at the ideas and expectations placed upon herself and the weight associated with that. It delves into the internal observation and acceptance of the inhabited form, resulting in the creation of her own personal grid.
